Lomitapide has been shown to be highly effective in reducing LDL-cholesterol and triglycerides, and has been aproved for treatment of homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia. Lomitapide can lower the secretion of very-low-density lipoproteins (VLDL) and chylomicrons. |
