The STS1 (suppressor of T-cell receptor signaling 1) gene encodes a histidine tyrosine phosphatase, which is expressed ubiquitously. The protein contains an SH3 domain and an N-terminal ubiquitin associated domain. Its C-terminal domain is similar to the catalytic motif of phosphoglycerate mutase. The gene is also known as UBASH3B (ubiquitin associated and SH3 domain containing B) and TULA2 (T-cell ubiquitin ligand-2) and is mapped to human chromosome 11q24.1. The encoded protein was found to inhibit endocytosis of epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) and platelet-derived growth factor receptor.

UBASH3B (NP_116262.2, 344 a.a. ~ 441 a.a) partial recombinant protein with GST tag. MW of the GST tag alone is 26 KDa.

The STS1 (suppressor of T-cell receptor signaling 1) protein is involved in the dephosphorylation of Syk (spleen tyrosine kinase). This gene is known to induce metastasis and invasion in breast cancer by inhibiting the action of core binding factor and thereby, controls epidermal growth factor receptor activity. The protein is considered as a potent mitosis regulator. It induces Aurora B localization and thereby promotes segregation of chromosome.
