In addition to the ARID DNA binding domain, ARID4B also contains a chromo domain and a TUDOR domain, indicating a function in chromatin organization and protein-protein interactions with methylated protein substrates. As a subunit of the SIN3A transcriptional co-repressor, ARID4B is implicated to be involved in chromatin remodeling and epigenetic modifications. ARID4B may play a role in the pathogenesis of breast cancer and other malignancies. |
