| General description【一般描述】 | RuvB-like 2 (RUVBL2), a transcription factor, belongs to the AAA+ protein subfamily of conserved ATPases linked with diverse cellular functions. A distinctive domain II (DII) protrudes from one side of the hexamer and defines two separate faces of the ring in RUVBL2. |

| Biochem/physiol Actions【生化/生理作用】 | RuvB-like 2 (RUVBL2) plays a regulatory role in the Fanconia anemia (FA) pathway, the assembly of the telomerase holoenzyme, and nonsense-mediated mRNA decay (NMD). It may play a role in tumorigenesis and cancer progression. Overexpression of the RUVBL2 protein is observed in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), renal cell carcinoma, colorectal cancer, gastric cancer, breast cancer, and salivary gland cancer. It can be used as a promising target for preventing and treating HCC. |
