| General description【一般描述】 | The Chromobox domain (Cbx) gene family, consisting of Polycomb and Heterochromatin Protein 1 genes, involved in transcriptional repression, cell cycle regulation and chromatin remodeling. Polycomb group proteins are transcriptional repressors recruited to many developmental control genes. Chromobox homolog 6 (Cbx6) is a polycomb homolog which exhibits preferential binding affinity for trimethylated histone H3. Cbx6 is an essential regulator of cell fate decisions during embryogenesis. |
