Synthetic peptide directed towards the C terminal region of human COL6A2

There are several types of collagens, of which COL6A2 (COLVI) has an important role in the function and stability of skeletal and cardiac muscles. COLVI has a complex structure; equimolar quantities of three genetically distinct subunits, α1(VI), α2(VI), and α3(VI), interact to form a triple helical monomer which is then bonded in an anti-parallel direction to form dimers. These dimers align to form tetramers with the help of disulfide linkage.
