Low density lipoprotein receptor-related protein associated protein 1 (LRPAP1) is a chaperone protein that interacts with low density lipoprotein (LDL) receptor-related protein and mediates its proper folding. Mutations and allelic variants of LRPAP1 gene are associated with severe myopia and Parkinson′s disease, respectively.
