| General description【一般描述】 | MLF1IP (MLF1 interacting protein) is located at chromosome 4q35.1 encoding a 46kDa protein. It is localized in the cytoplasm and nucleus. It consists of two bipartite and two classical nuclear localization signals, two nuclear receptor-binding motifs (LXXLL), two leucine zippers, two PEST residues and multiple regions for potential phosphorylation. It is highly expressed in human testis, fetal liver, thymus and bone marrow. Low expressions have been observed in lymph nodes, placenta, colon and spleen. |

It has been reported that MLF1IP interacts with MDS/myeloid leukemia factor 1 (MLF1) and may play a role in the genesis of erythroleukemias. It has also been predicted that MLF1IP may be involved in malignant transformation. |
