| Biochem/physiol Actions【生化/生理作用】 | NUDT5 (Nudix, nucleoside diphosphate linked moiety X-type motif 5) is mainly involved in maintaining the intracellular level of ADP-ribose by hydrolyzing ADP-ribose (ADPR) to AMP and ribose 5′-phosphate. It also restricts non-enzymatic ADP-ribosylation. Its N-terminal antiparallel β-sheet plays an important role in dimerization, which is essential for substrate recognition and enzymatic activity. NUDT5 has also been predicted for altered cell proliferation. It has been suggested that cells with suppressed NUDT5 shows delayed cell cycle G1 phase. Thus, it has been concluded that NUDT5 may involve in cell growth and cell cycle proliferation by regulating G1-S transition in mammalian cells. |
