The encoded protein is a isoform of PHLPP family and is composed of 1323 amino acids. PHLPP2 is characterized with a pleckstrin homology domain (PH domain), leucine-rich repeats, a protein phosphatase 2C (PP2C) domain and a PDZ-binding motif. |

Expression of PHLPP protein is decreased in hypopharyngeal squamous cell carcinomas (HSCCs). Thus, this protein can be used as a marker to determine the poor prognosis in HSCCs patients. |
