| Biochem/physiol Actions【生化/生理作用】 | The PKC ζ (protein kinase C ζ) is a Zn2+-dependent kinase that is known to activate G protein-coupled receptor (GPR)39, contributing to the improvement of intestinal barrier function against S. typhimurium infection. PKC ζ acts as a tumor suppressor gene by inhibiting the invasion, cell growth and metastasis of cancer, such as prostate cancer. PKC ζ might serve as a biomarker for inflammatory diseases, as the gene is associated with the regulation of the nuclear factor κ-light-chain-enhancer of activated B cells (NF-ζB). Upregulation of the gene is observed in many of the human cancers, such as glioblastoma. |
