It plays a key role in nucleotide excision repair, mismatch repair, and base excision repair. RPA1 participates in DNA replication and recombination events. Decreased RPA1 levels can impair the activation of DNA damage checkpoint. Overexpression of the RPA1 gene affects the stability of the genome and results in 17p13.3 duplication syndrome. |
