It is localized to trans-Golgi network and mediates the influx of Na+ or K+ in exchange for H+. NHE7 binds with SCAMP2, a member of the secretory carrier membrane protein (SCAMP) gene family. SCAMP2 reportedly aids the shuttling of NHE7 between recycling vesicles and the trans-Golgi network. |
