| Biochem/physiol Actions【生化/生理作用】 | SNARE-associated protein Snapin is a protein encoded by the SNAPIN gene in humans. It is a 15kDa protein present in neuronal and non-neuronal cells and is implicated in the regulation of exocytosis and endocytosis. Synaptic vesicle docking and fusion are mediated by the assembly of a stable SNARE core complex of proteins. It includes the synaptic vesicle membrane protein VAMP/synaptobrevin and the plasmalemmal proteins syntaxin and SNAP-25. Snapin is an important component of the neurotransmitter release process through its modulation of the sequential interactions between the SNAREs and synaptotagmin. |
