| General description【一般描述】 | The protein encoded by STAG3 gene is expressed in the nucleus, specifically in testis and is a subunit of the cohesin complex which regulates the cohesion of sister chromatids during cell division. The gene has multiple pseudogenes. STAG3 is the only meiosis-specific subunit that is present within all four meiosis-specific cohesin complexes. |

STAG3 is expressed specifically in testis and loss of function mutation in the gene results in male infertility. |
