| Biochem/physiol Actions【生化/生理作用】 | The very-low-density-lipoprotein receptor (VLDLR) is a transmembrane lipoprotein receptor and belongs to low-density-lipoprotein (LDL) receptor family. It is encoded by the VLDLR gene in humans. The LDL receptor gene family members are involved in ligand-mediated signal transduction. VLDLR is involved in the Reelin signaling pathway helping in neuronal migration in the cerebral cortex and cerebellum. It is strongly induced during adipogenesis and actively participates in adipocyte hypertrophy. VLDLR contributes to adipose tissue inflammation and mediates VLDL-induced lipid accumulation. It induces inflammation and ER stress in adipocytes and macrophages. VLDL receptor also plays a role in signaling processes. |
