BCTC blocks capsaicin-induced contractions in a variety of smooth muscle tissues, including guinea pig ileum, bladder and trachea with no effects on capsaicin-sensitive, sensory neuron-mediated positive inotropy. The compound penetrates the CNS and has strong analgesic properties. |
