| General description【一般描述】 | The Human BDNF ELISA (Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay) kit is an in vitro enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay for the quantitative measurement of human BDNF in serum, plasma, cell culture supernatants and urine. β2-microglobulin (B2M) is a non-glycosylated polypeptide composed of 99 amino acids. It is present on the surface of all nucleated cells. The protein is characterized with a single polypeptide chain, which is linked noncovalently to major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class I cell surface antigen. The gene coding for B2M is mapped to human chromosome 15q. |

| Biochem/physiol Actions【生化/生理作用】 | β2-microglobulin (B2M) plays a vital role in cell survival, proliferation and metastasis in various types of cancer. Elevated concentration of β-2-microglobulin (B2M) can be considered as a prognostic marker for hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH). Elevated concentration of circulating B2M, due to renal dysfunction and long term hemodialysis, leads to dialysis-related amyloidosis. Overexpression of serum B2M is observed in hepatitis C virus (HCV) related chronic liver diseases, therefore it might act as a potential marker for the HCV disease progression towards cirrhosis and carcinoma. Missense mutation in the B2M gene results in familial hypercatabolic hypoproteinemia (FHH). |
