It has high affinity and selectivity for the fluoroprostaglandin (FP) receptor PGF2α. Tafluprost is believed to reduce the intraocular pressure (IOP) by increasing the outflow of aqueous humor. Tafluprost is a pro-drug. The active metabolite is the free acid. |
