An amino analog of ADP-ribose that acts as a highly potent, noncompetitive, and specific inhibitor of poly(ADP-ribose) glycohydrolase (PARG) (IC₅₀ = 120 nM) vs. ADP-ribose (IC₅₀ = 120 mM). Also inhibits NAD glycohydrolase from Bungarus fasciatus venom at much higher concentrations (IC₅₀ = 260 µM). Does not affect the activities of either poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase (PARP) or NAD:arginine mono(ADP-ribosyl)-transferase A even at 1 mM concentration.
